It is always nice to read the Word of God and hear about the mighty men but today something interesting happened. This morning during my reading and prayer time the thought of Sarah came to my mind and the statement – “She was God’s Girl”. Being God’s girl in
the sense that He really watched out for her and she held a special place in His
heart.
Now, I don’t know about many of you but I am always curious when the Holy Spirit just seems to drop things into my heart. You probably don’t do this but sometimes when I hear something familiar I already think I know where God is going and try to beat Him to the punch. Needless to say, I was surprised when He began to reveal this one and how it was revealed.

I wasn’t led to open my Bible, retrieve concordances, study guides or start speaking in tongues. Not the normal, get ready and let’s go deep into God’s Word kind of atmosphere. Nope! In fact it was real subtle and I was way into it before I realized what had happened. As I rested in my bed I just began to get this picture of Sarah almost as if it was a movie and a soft narration came forth from the Holy Spirit. There she was in the home of King Abimelech as part of his harem. Her husband, Abraham, had told her to say she was his sister instead of his wife for fear of being killed. As I meditated on the scripture I could visualize Abimelech rushing to clear things up with God and Abraham as quickly as possible. He was afraid of God killing him and his
household.
But here is another interesting thing the Holy Spirit did during this time. He began reminding me of things about Sarah and touching my heart to feel how He felt owards her. When she laughed at the sound of hearing she would bare a child His heart did not grow hard towards her but had faith she would walk into the promise. In fact, she touched His heart so much by her faith she made the ‘Hall of Faith’ in Hebrews 11. The Lord showed me how much she was loved and honored by her husband and son and allowed me to feel their hearts towards her. Abraham purposely sends his servant to search in Sarah’s land for a wife for their son. I could see the love of her husband Abraham and his determination to bring his son as much joy. I could see her son mourning his mother’s passing and the only thing that brought him joy again was the delivery of his wife, Rebekah. Abraham also makes a request that when he dies his bones should be laid next to Sarah.
Have you ever felt the love of God just seem to wash over you like an ocean and everything around you seems to stand still or disappear? The only voice you hear is something deep inside that seems to shut down every other sound – and it begins to preach. “For Sarah I shut down the wombs of Abimelech’s house and his servants. The only way they could be reopened was by the prayers of the prophet Abraham. As much as I loved Sarah I also love you. You are my girl Denise and I will do the same on your behalf.”
Now, as special as I believe I am in God’s eye I don’t think this is an exclusive club. I honestly think that anyone who has a heart to love, has received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and love people – you can get it also. For me I just began to decree, “Father God, I am your girl and the gates of hell shall not prevail against me. Every attachment of the enemy is shut down over my life and by the prayers of the righteous, the womb of deliverance and healing has been opened for Your people. In Jesus Name. Amen.”
Needless to say this has been one special day for me and my dear Heavenly Father. My prayer is that this testimony will encourage you to see yourself as one of “God’s girls” and know He will defend your honor. Read: Genesis 20 (AMP).
God bless and love you all.
OOPS! A special note to you guys. Sarah being God’s girl only enhanced Abraham’s life and his fortune. Remember how Abimelech blessed him with money, cattle, and land. Notice also how close Abraham and Sarah seemed to hang out. This
seemed to only enhance his life and that of their family. Their fortune only increased over the years. So, if I were you I would encourage your wife, daughter, sister, and woman friends to be God’s Girl.
